OVERVIEW

Working in partnership with Awaken Consulting (lead trainer – Lisa Wake), The Performance Solution and Kingston University, we are delighted to offer this Trainers Training as part of an MA in Coaching and NLP. Graduates of the programme may continue on to the MA, and/or continue as autonomous and independent Trainers of NLP. This programme ensures that you will be able to meet the criteria for training and certifying to Diploma, Practitioner and Master Practitioner level with ANLP.

1. Our Ethos

We believe that NLP would benefit virtually everyone worldwide. Our intention and desire is to make NLP as widely known, accessible and accepted throughout the world as possible. For many people, having a UK University recognise our NLP courses will open the door to a wider acceptance of NLP, which will benefit everyone.

Our trainings are comprehensive, thorough and enjoyable. We want our students to not only know NLP, but to know they know it and to operate from an extremely high level of competence and ecology.

As much as possible we avoid some of the ‘politics’ within NLP, and we affiliate ourselves with ANLP International, an organisation which welcomes competent people regardless of which school they have trained at.

2. Why Attend Our Trainers Training?

  • To take your NLP knowledge to new levels, and become even more fluent in using NLP. It’s one thing to know it well enough to use it - it’s another to know it well enough to teach it.
  • To run NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner courses. If this is something you would like to do, in our opinion it is one of the best ways to make a difference. You know how much impact NLP had in your life, don’t you? Well, imagine being able to create that for others!
  • Even if you don’t plan to run Practitioner or Master Practitioner courses, preferring to run for example, in-house NLP-based communication courses, you’ll have an academically recognised qualification, which will help you stand out from the competition. And if your organisational client happens to want, for example, an in-house Business Practitioner, you’ll be able to provide it, which will far exceed the cost of Trainers Training.
  • Having an academically recognised Trainers Training certificate will help distinguish you from other trainers and coaches.
  • You can gain an academically recognised qualification to use NLP in up to two of four fields– business, sport, coaching and health/therapy.
  • We will advise you on how to take your qualification forward commercially – ‘the business of training’.
  • If you want to get a Masters degree, you will be at least halfway there.
  • We are committed to taking the field of NLP forward, by enhancing standards. We are committed to excellence. As one of our Trainers, you will know that you know the material!

    3. Entry Requirements

The course is open to anyone who has an NLP Master Practitioner certificate and who we believe would be appropriate for the course. We will interview all applicants who we do not know or who we have not trained.

    4. Evaluation

Your evaluation will comprise the following five aspects:

  • a 3,000 word reflective essay. Further details on this will be sent by separate email. This will need to be completed within three months of booking, and in any event by 30 June.
  • a closed book written test - pass mark approximately 75%
  • one presentation of an NLP topic – approximately 30 minutes. Notes will be permitted.
  • a demonstration of one of the NLP patterns.
  • operating from the presuppositions of NLP, being an example of NLP excellence, building and maintaining rapport, from the time you book and throughout the course.

    5 Pre-Study For Trainers Training & Evaluation

To prepare for the course, we strongly suggest that you do the pre-course work that we will recommend when you book onto the course.

6 The academic element and links with the Masters course

The MA is administered by The Performance Solution (TPS) (01225 867285 - Ceri (pronounced Kerry) Heathcote is the contact. http://www.theperformancesolution.com/openprogrammes.htm) and accredited by Kingston University – we can provide the details of the academic supervisor if required.

Essentially, the MA requires 180 credits, split into 3 segments.

A 60 credits are available to Master Practitioners (30 pract, 30 MP), subject to being able to demonstrate sufficient conscious competence. This entitles people to a 'Certificate' in Coaching & NLP

B There are several options/routes for the next 60 credits (to take people to a 'Diploma' in Coaching & NLP), for example:
    1. 15 credits attendance of a suitable coaching course. TPS run one, although they are quite willing to grant Accreditation for Prior Learning (APL) if people have attended suitable courses (There may be an APL fee for this of £500 plus VAT).
    2. 15 credits for 250 hours of coaching
    3. 20 credits for some form of Leadership & OD project & assignment
    4. 10 credits - reflective learning
    5. 30 credits for our Trainers Training, which can replace points 3 and 4 above.
So, by successfully completing our TT, you'll have 90 of 180 credits towards the MA. The other options/routes are by discussion with TPS.

C To go to Masters Level (from 120 to 180 points), there's a 15,000 word dissertation. This costs £2,950 plus VAT.

    7 Course Content and Structure

In summary, the course will cover topics to help you:
  • Structure brilliant presentations
  • Structure top-notch training course
  • Target your training to specific contexts
  • Be in the most useful trainer state
  • Do eye-catching demonstrations
  • Use metaphors appropriately

    and much, much more.

There will be compulsory sessions, and optional sessions for specific strands. Lisa Wake and Jeremy Lazarus will be the lead trainers, and there will sessions run by training assistants, and there will be several guest speakers from the four strands (coaching, business, sport, health/therapy).
