Video Downloads: Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Video downloads
Q: What size will the download be?
A: It depends on the course and whether it was recorded in person or on Zoom. As a general guide, the file size will typically be between 8 and 10 Gb for courses recorded in person (NLP for Business success, Introduction to Coaching Skills and NLP Sports Practitioner), and for courses recorded on Zoom for each one day of training the file size will typically be between 1 and 2 GB.
Q: How are the downloads organised?
A: For videos of courses lasting longer than one day (e.g. NLP Practitioner course (8 days), NLP Diploma course (4 days) and Core Coaching Skills (3 days) ), the downloads are organised into one-day blocks. So, for example, for the NLP Diploma course, you will receive a link for each of the four days.
Q: How long will it take to download?
A: This depends on which video product you have bought, and your internet connectivity. How long it takes to download will vary, and depend on factors such as
- the size of the file (see the first question above)
- your download speed, which is sometimes impacted by the time of the day and how much internet usage is happening on your Wifi connection at that time
- the processing power of the device you are downloading to.
Q: When should I download the videos?
A: Because of the factors mentioned in the previous question above, we would suggest that you choose at time when other demands on your internet connection is low. We would also recommend that you download one day of videos at a time.
Q: Which type of Wifi network should I use?
A: We would recommend that you use a known, reliable network (for example your home network), rather than, for example, public Wifi. If you are using your employer’s Wifi network, we recommend that you speak to their IT department because some organisational Wifi networks impose limits on the size of downloads for individual devices.
Q: Should I download to my mobile phone?
A: This depends on the capacity of your mobile phone, and whether you are using Wifi or your data allowance. If you exceed your data allowance, your network provider may charge you. This is why we recommend that you use high-speed Wifi. Also, we cannot comment on how easy or difficult it may be, or the technical skills required, to open zip files and watch videos on any specific mobile phone model.
Q: If I have bought the videos of a course lasting more than one day, what is the best way to download them?
A: For videos such as our NLP Practitioner course (8 days), NLP Diploma course (4 days) and Core Coaching Skills (3 days), there are download links for each separate day. We would recommend that you download one day at a time, and at a time when your internet connection is likely to be strong.
